Solar-Passive: How hot will water in a 55 gallon steel drum get…?

.. on a clear sunny day, if it is placed in a well insulated greenhouse facing unobstructed, south facing windows?
I am trying to find the right calculations for this, but I am unsuccesful.
Other info:
42 degree latitude.
approx 500 BTU per sq. ft. a day.

follow up question, would a flat box shaped stell container ( same size) take in more heat gain, than a cylindrical steel drum? ( both painted flat black)

Any comments on “staple up” hydronic heating systems in very cold weather areas?

I am thinking about installing a staple up system (PEX secured to underside of the floor) using heat transfer plates and insulation. After insulating and skirting the crawl space will this type of system work eficently in cold climates?
Also what kind of T.D. can I expect? I will have a fuel oil boiler and probably a Heat Link control system with the G.P.M. calculated. The house is two stories and 1600 sq.ft. Thanks.

I’m looking for a company that will design a hydronic radiant heat system for my house that I can install.

I'm planning on putting a hydronic radiant heat system in my 2400 sq ft house. 1200 on the top floor. 1200 in the basement. The top floor would be floor heated and the basement would be wall heated. I'm looking for a company that will use a house blueprint of mine to design and build a system that I can then install. Any ideas?

Radiant / Hydronic floor heating system: Flushing it?

How do you flush the radiant floor heating system?

I have a 17 years old house 6000 sq ft, with six zone radiant heating. the room farthest away, my daughter's bedroom remains cold, and I was told that I need to flush it.

Thanks.
